Connecticut Choral Society
Come Sing with Us!
Would you like to join us as a singer for the upcoming season? The Connecticut Choral Society is currently scheduling singer interviews!
We are auditioning singers to join us in song!
CCS is known for our high musical performance standards, outstanding contribution to the arts, and community outreach through benefit concerts. Our repertoire features a variety of choral music, from Monteverdi to Mozart and Faure to Forrest.
We look forward to meeting new singers that share our passion and love of choral music! We are interviewing for all singing parts, and we are especially seeking tenor and bass singers.
If this is your first time singing with CCS, please complete the online registration form first at https://ctchoralsociety.org/singer-registration/. We will contact you soon after to schedule a time for an interview with our Artistic Director & Conductor Eric Dale Knapp.
Our new singer interview times are scheduled for Monday, January 20, 2025 between 6:30 PM and 7:15 PM, just prior to our regular rehearsals. They are “singer friendly” and last approximately 15 minutes. Maestro Knapp would like to hear your voice and talk to you a bit. Please have a vocal piece to sing and bring two copies with you. It can even be a Hymn or your favorite song, just so he knows what your voice sounds like. It's that simple!

Middlesex Hospital Vocal Chords
Seeking Tenors and Basses
MHVC,under the direction of Samuel Tucker, is seeking tenors and basses to join our chorus.
The Middlesex Hospital Vocal Chord family, under the direction of musical director Samuel Tucker and accompanied by an eight-piece orchestra directed by the talented Alan Dougherty, is seeking tenors and basses to join our chorus. No auditions necessary!
Debi Messina, who has been a member of MHVC since 2015 says; “My love of singing, retirement, and the passing of my best friend were my reasons for joining Vocal Chords. It brings me joy to sing with this exceptional, caring group of individuals. My hope is that, by singing with Vocal Chords, I have brought some joy to others in their time of need.”
Louise Russo, an original member of 35 years, shared this story; "I was involved with the hospital and heard about the group. Since high school, I loved to sing and decided to join the group... Now 35 years later, I still find it relaxing while making good friends and enjoying an extended family."
Paul Scrivano, who rejoined in 2024 says;” I was a member over 20 years ago. At that time, I had 3 children under the age of 6. I participated for several semesters but due to my young family I resigned. Last winter a friend passed away after an illness. He was a phenomenal singer. With the turmoil in the world, I remembered the healing powers of music. He inspired me to sing again. I was aware that Sam Tucker was the new director of the Vocal Chords. I knew Sam from my son's participation in PHS Choir and Acapella Group. He impressed me with his enthusiasm and positive energy. I decided to rejoin the Vocal Chords last January. It’s an amazing group of singers of all levels. I am unable to read music, but I am learning. The voices together sound amazing. Sometimes during our practices I’m so impressed with the sound. I may come to practice drained from work, but I leave energized. Sam’s enthusiasm and energy is contagious. I regret not rejoining sooner.”
If you have been considering doing something this year to enhance your life, make new friends and reduce stress levels, please consider joining our musical family. Rehearsals begin Tuesday January 21st at 6:45-9:00 at Msgr. Fox Parish Hall, St Francis Church, 10 Elm Street, Middletown, CT, for our upcoming spring concert on Saturday, May 3rd, 7:00 pm at Portland High School. New members accepted through February 4th.
